We never quite thought that we’d be recommending a game that’s all about sick, but here we are.

Eggggg: The Platform Puker is an absolutely fantastic mobile platformer where you play as a little boy called Gilbert. They say he can’t go to a birthday party, so he goes a bit mad and leaps out the window straight into a gigantic egg. But he seems to sick himself right out of that egg and then meets the chicken responsible for said egg.

And it’s here that the real fun begins: you’re let loose into various levels collecting eggs as you run and leap. Well, we say leap, but in reality you’re vomiting yourself from A to B, using different kinds of sick as you move about.

Despite the focus on vomit, it’s actually a rather beautiful and absorbing game full of colour and hilarious details.

If you don’t mind a bit of sick – don’t worry, it doesn’t smell – this is one of the best mobile games we’ve played in years.

If you ever wanted a tap-happy adventure, then you’d be hard-pushed to find something more hilarious and addictive than Best Fiends Forever.

It’s a spin-off of the excellent Best Fiends released a few years back and features the same-old gang, but in a new gameplay format – tapping.

The gameplay is simple enough, but it starts getting complicated when you’ve got tons of enemies and hordes of friends to help you out. It’s mayhem but absolutely unstoppable fun.

Another who’s ever wanted to get into Hearthstone but finds it a little impenetrable, should pay close attention to Plants vs Zombies: Heroes.

It’s basically Hearthstone crossed with the traditional Plants vs Zombies gameplay, where you attack the zombies in lanes, but this time using plant-based cards.

There are heroes, as the name would suggest, so you can equip your flora-friends with some superpowers to compliment the usual crowd.

But there’s so much more strategic card game here than you’d expect, it’s just fed to you in a much more straightforward way.

If you’re looking for a version of FIFA 17 that you can carry around in your pocket, then you’re going to be disappointed. However, what FIFA Mobile does do is offer an arcade experience that focuses on snappy play sessions, social interactions and some card collecting. It’s not half-bad unless you’re expecting something more, basically.

It’s incredibly streamlined, with everything happening pretty much without you unless you take control with the D-pad in the bottom left corner. But the gameplay really revolves around collecting cards to build the perfect team, with card sets giving you special bonuses.

FIFA Mobile might not be the pocket FIFA you wanted, but it’s a great way to keep your hands busy when you’re not next to your console.

What more could you want from a mobile game than a cross between Super Stickman Golf (more on that below) and Flappy Bird? Nothing? We thought so.

It takes the setting and looks of Super Stickman Golf 3 but turns the gameplay into a two-touch system that resembles Flappy Bird without the deadly pipes for an amazing hybrid.

All you’ve got to do is get the winged ball into the hole, but you’ve got limited flaps and obstacles to avoid. There are even things to collect, daily race challenges and a hilarious multiplayer mode for playing with your mates either locally or online, meaning there’s plenty for the completionist to uncover.
